In presenting the award, Tastefully Simple Founder & CEO Jill Blashack Strahan noted that the award is for an individual who is "always there to get the job done and is not afraid to take risks. Strahan also read portions of some of the nominations from coworkers that DeKrey received. One wrote: "Lisa uses her position to empower others. While being a wonderful listener, she can still keep people on-task and motivated." Another said that "Lisa is always encouraging others to meet their goals and follow their dreams. And then she follows through by celebrating those successes."

DeKrey joined Tastefully Simple in August 2004. As a Trainer/Facilitator, she is involved with facilitating the company's goal post process - a company-wide effort to improve productivity and team member satisfaction.
