In November 2004, the Today show segment showed Melanie conducting a taste-testing party and demonstrating how her Tastefully Simple business provides both income and a flexible work schedule that fits her family's lifestyle and long-term goals. 

As a follow-up to this original "Pay It Down" segment, the show revisited Melanie's story in January 2006 with a special feature that recapped all of her personal and financial success.
