Cookie Exchange Andes Mints

It’s the fifth and final day of our holiday ideas! ‘Tis the season for cookie exchanges and I’m always looking for great ways to present those cookies without spending a ton of money.

Yes, a paper plate covered in plastic gets the job done, but I’ve found some really fun, cute and inexpensive ways to gift your cookies this year. Trust me. The craft and dollar stores are your best friend when it comes to cookie exchanges. I promise. I found all of these for under $3 each! Most were just $1 or $2.

Here are five fun ways to wrap up and gift your Christmas goodies.

1. Cupcake Liners
First, grab some fun holiday cupcake liners and some clear treat bags. Put a few cookies in the liner, place them in the bag and tie with a fun ribbon. Now this won’t work if you’re supposed to bring a dozen cookies to an exchange, but it does work as a small holiday token for co-workers or for the kiddos at holiday gatherings. Note: it’s best to use small cookies for these.

Oh! I almost forgot! The recipe for the Chewy Mint Chocolate Delights (pictured above) is below. And, here is the recipe for our wonderful Chocolate Almond Pound Cake Cookies (pictured above).

2. DIY Jars
Check out this idea for these fun jars. Place your cookies inside, and you’re set!

3. Cookie Tin
This one seems obvious but I always thought cookie tins were ugly and somewhat dated. This one was ON SALE for about $3 at my local craft store. Isn’t it cute? It’s the perfect size, and even has a clear top so you can see your gorgeous cookies!

4. Gift Box
I’ve tried wrapping small boxes and using those as cookie containers before. It works out fine, but these pre-decorated boxes really step it up a notch. The best part? $1.25 at our local dollar store! I didn’t know dollar stores had things this CUTE!

5. To-Go Box
Yes, you read that right! I found these adorable to-go boxes at our local dollar store. I think they were $1.25 for 5 boxes. How awesome is that? Just put your cookies inside and you’re set!

Cookie Exchange To Go

There you have it – five fantastic ways to gift Christmas cookies. And you don’t have to ask for your plate back!

I hope you were able to get a few fun holiday ideas from our posts this week. I had a ton of fun creating them for you.

As much fun as it can be getting crafty around the holidays, and as stressful as it can be trying to perfect the details, I want to make sure you take time to focus on what’s really important this season. It’s not the perfect cookie. It’s not the prettiest wrapping. We’re all blessed in our ways and no matter what, we all have something to appreciate this holiday season.

With that, I leave you with a photo of what I’m most grateful for this season: my family. This photo is a bit dated (our wedding last summer), but my husband Nick, my parents, Eric and Vicki, my brother Eli and his amazing wife, Amanda and their two boys, Cole and Leighton really do make my world go round.

Anna's Family

Hug your family a little tighter. Slow down. Smile at a stranger. Feel the warmth of the season. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, from my family to yours.
