5 Secrets For a Fantastic Turkey

Are you ready to make the leap to full-blown grown-up and start taking on at least part of making Thanksgiving dinner? Here's my advice … go for it! It's really not that bad, and here's my first secret: the turkey is the easiest thing to make. I kid you not! Here's how:

Secret #2: Buy it fresh
This time of year, most grocery stores offer fresh (not frozen) turkeys, which is awesome, because IMHO, thawing the turkey is the worst! It takes DAYS, and who the heck has room for a ginormous turkey in their fridge for a week? Not me! Fresh is the way to go. Place your order and pick it up Thanksgiving eve or morning.

Secret #3: Use a roasting bag
I know, I know … you're worried about cooking in plastic. But here's the thing: out of all the things we have to worry about, cooking a turkey in a roasting bag once a year is not going to kill you. It WILL, however, ensure that your turkey is moist and delicious.

Secret #4: Use Rustic Herb Seasoning
It's Thanksgiving in a jar … it's delicious, and your gravy will be fab, too.

Secret #5: Cook the stuffing separately
Tradition suggests that we should stuff our birds, but the USDA advises against it and it is MUCH easier (and I believe more delicious) to cook the stuffing in a separate pan.

So this year, make the leap and cook the turkey yourself! Your family will be amazed and you will make yourself proud. Here's a short video to show just how simple it is.
