9 Must-Try Desserts for National Dessert Day

Goodness. There are so many deliciously divine desserts in the world. And you know what? October 14 is officially National Dessert Day. That means it's your duty to indulge in one or two today. And you take your responsibilities very seriously, right? Right.

With that in mind, here's a little sweet inspiration for you, featuring nine of our top favorites this fall.

Pumpkin Patch Almond Bundt Cake

Ingredients

Directions

Preheat oven to 325°. Prepare Pumpkin Patch Bread Mix as directed on package with egg and 1 cup water; pour batter into greased bundt-style pan. Prepare Absolutely Almond Pound Cake Mix as directed on package with butter and remaining water; pour batter over Pumpkin Patch batter. Swirl batters together slightly with a butter knife. Bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool cake completely; invert onto serving platter. Drizzle warm Creamy Caramel Sauce over top of cake, encouraging it to slightly run down the sides of the cake. Makes 12-14 servings.

Tips and Hints

  • Don't be shy about greasing your Bundt pan. Spray every little nook and cranny with cooking spray to ensure your cake releases cleanly.
  • Serve cake with whipped cream and additional sauce, if desired. Chopped walnuts or pecans would be delicious, too.
  • Love all things pumpkin? Substitute Pumpkin Caramel Sauce for your topping, like I did. So creamy and cozy for fall! 
  • Isn't the shape of this cake gorgeous? After harboring a serious long-time crush on the Nordic Ware Heritage Bundt Pan, I finally splurged on it last year. You can find it online with all kinds of retailers, from Amazon to Target, for about $25. (I absolutely love mine!)
