Bacon BBQ Star Sliders

Up here in the northland, our grills work double time in the summer and there is nothing like the intoxicating aroma of grilled burgers wafting through the neighborhood, right? But alas, I find that it's all too easy to fall into the same old burger routine. Same spices, same veggies, same burgers on the same old toasted buns. Tasty, but so tired ... *yawn*.

So I livened things up last time and the results were deeee-lish! And festive! It was so easy and I am always amazed at how - with the tiniest bit of effort - I can re-energize dinner. Oh, I admit that I'm easily amused ... I'm OK with it. But still - check out these Bacon BBQ Star Sliders!

Our Ultimate Steak™ Seasoning is a fan-flippin'-tastic blend of spices ... plus there's Smoky Bacon BBQ Sauce right in the burger mixture. Brilliant AND bacon-y! There's also cheese ... in the shape of a star! So cheery! And in a stroke of genius we chopped up the leftover cheese and threw it into the burger mix. You should do that, too. One of my frequent taste testers is practically impossible to impress. So imagine my delight when she pronounced these burgers the best she had ever tasted. She said the spices and BBQ were perfect and the cheese inside and out knocked it out of the park. I'm still beaming. 

So tonight, whip up some Bacon BBQ Star Sliders. So easy and so worth it!

Using a star-shaped cookie cutter, cut slices of cheese into star shapes.

Bacon BBQ Star Sliders prep

Mix together all ingredients, including remaining cheese pieces.

Preheat grill to high heat. Combine first 4 ingredients. Form into 12 patties. Grill to desired doneness. Serve on buns, topping burgers with cheeses, tomato and lettuce. Makes 12 sliders.

Tips and Hints

  • These may be small in size but they're big in taste thanks to our Ultimate Steak™ Seasoning and Smoky Bacon BBQ Sauce, french-fried onions and, of course, the star-shaped cheese.
  • You can really switch up the flavor depending on the cheese you choose. Cheddar and Pepper Jack work great. Provolone and mozzarella would also work well.
  • Cut out your cheese shapes first. Throw any remaining cheese pieces into your burger mixture.
