Creamy Crab Wontons

If you are looking for an easy and delicious appetizer, look no further! Our new Creamy Crab Cheese Ball Mix has arrived and it makes the perfect filling for cream cheese wontons.

I was well into my adult life before I discovered cream cheese wontons and that is really a shame. It wasn't until I had the opportunity to eat a catered Chinese lunch (because it was the only option available to my mostly meat and potatoes palate) that I was introduced to these amazing, creamy bites.

Our Creamy Crab Wontons take regular cream cheese wontons up a flavor notch. In addition, they are baked, not fried, so they are truly so simple to make. You'll be enjoying them in no time.

First, mix together the Creamy Crab Cheese Ball Mix with softened cream cheese.

Next, lay your wonton wrappers out on a cookie sheet and place a dollop of the mixture in the center. I actually used a small cookie scoop to help make the process even easier.

Once all your wontons are prepped, brush the edges of each wrapper with melted butter.

Then pinch together the opposite corners of the wrapper to close the wonton and create that familiar, delicious shape that is a cream cheese wonton.

Brush a little additional butter on the outside and bake at 400°F for 5-8 minutes until the edges are brown.

Serve as an appetizer or alongside your favorite Chinese main dish, like our Chinese Pork and Pasta.

Tips and Hints

  • Serve with a side of sweet & sour sauce.
  • Add chopped imitation or real crab to the cheese ball mixture.
  • As I mentioned, I used a cookie scoop to portion out the cream cheese on the wrappers. Check out our Get the Scoop blog post for more ideas on how to use a cookie or ice cream scoop in everyday cooking.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Creamy crab ball dip I use it on fish. Just sprinkle it on top and bake. Also when doing clam bake. Put some in water. Sprinkle on pasta as well. It's delicious.
