Garlic Grilled Broccolini

I’ve been trying really hard to eat healthier, but like you, I tend to fall into a rut and eat some of the same things. I get bored, and then I fall off the healthy wagon. Sound familiar?

I’m constantly looking for new foods and new ways to prepare some of my favorites to keep myself on the right track. Broccolini is one of my FAVORITES!

New to broccolini? I’ve got some pictures below that show you how it comes at the grocery store. It looks and tastes a lot like broccoli, but it’s just a hint sweeter and has long, skinny stems with smaller florets at the top. My favorite part is that, whether you grill, roast or sauté it, it’s so simple to cook.

So, if you’re looking for a new, healthy vegetable to liven dinner up a bit, grab some broccolini and give this recipe a try.

Enjoy!

Garlic Grilled Broccolini

Ingredients

Directions

Rinse broccolini; trim stems and any excess leaves. In a large bowl, drizzle oil and toss to coat. Little by little, sprinkle Garlic Pepper Seasoning, tossing to evenly coat. Place broccolini in disposable, aluminum pan. Sprinkle with salt. Grill over medium heat for about 6 minutes. Flip broccolini; grill for another 5-6 minutes or until stems are crisp-tender and tips start to darken. Serve immediately. Makes about 4 servings.

Tips and Hints

  • I used two medium disposable pans without venting holes. You can also purchase grill pans that have small holes to achieve a smoky flavor, but keep a close eye to prevent broccolini from burning.
  • For a fun flavor twist, squeeze some fresh lemon juice over grilled broccolini and toss with grated Parmesan cheese.
  • You can also roast broccolini if the grill isn’t really your friend. Prep as directed and bake at 400° on a foil-lined baking sheet for about 15 minutes, flipping half-way through.
