Garlic Pepper Kale Chips

Kale ... it's all the rage these days! Beautiful and leafy, this earthy mild veggie is LOADED with healthy nutrients. And - equally important - it's absolutely delicious. 

New to kale? Here are a few fun facts for you ...

  • There are a few different varieties. (The curly green type is the most common and usually the most inexpensive.)
  • Even though it's ultra-trendy right now, kale has actually been cultivated for over 2,000 years. It's part of the same family as broccoli and collard greens.
  • Kale is positively SUPER-charged with beta-carotene, calcium, fiber, Vitamins A and C, potassium ... the list goes on and on.
Since the leaves aren't as fragile as spinach, you can sauté it, steam it, you name it. But my favorite way to make it? Kale chips!

Garlic Pepper Kale Chips

Directions

Preheat oven to 350°. Cut out the tough middle stem from kale; tear or cut leaves into 2-inch pieces. Toss kale with Balsamic & Basil Dipping Oil in a large bowl. Use your fingers to coat each leaf with the oil. Lay the kale on a rimmed baking sheet in a single layer. Sprinkle with Garlic Pepper Seasoning. Bake for about 20 minutes turning them halfway through the cooking time. Check the chips before the bake time is over as some will be ready before others. Serve fresh from the oven. Makes 4-6 servings.
