Back in 2013, a long-time friend asked me to host a Tastefully Simple party. I was skeptical about how much fun this kind of "party" could be, but I wanted to help her out. Surprise! Before my consultant left the house after that party, I had joined this company myself!
To be honest, though, I was a little worried. Could I really handle this new business while working 45-50 hours a week as a retail manager? Still … it seemed like it could be a fun hobby to do parties a few nights a month and an occasional event.
Well, it turned out to be so fun and flavorful that three years later I quit my job to do this full-time. My business has opened so many doors: I have more time to spend with my family, have earned FREE trips and make my own schedule. And yes, it has been FUN!
Six years into this business, I find the best part of my job is the friendships I have made from hosting parties, clients I have met at events, and getting to know hundreds of fellow consultants at our annual conference. That said, the paychecks every two weeks for doing something I love is pretty awesome, too.
I've been asked, "If you could do it again, would you?" Definitely YES. I get paid to have fun; my business has added so much flavor to my life. Why not join and have fun with us yourself?
