Tastefully Simple has many popular foods – from signature seasonings to super sauces to divine desserts. But since 1995, one product remains the most popular (dare I say famous?) of them all: Bountiful Beer Bread Mix. In fact, if you stacked every box of this simple mix sold, it would not reach from the earth to the moon – but it would make a heckuva tall stack of beer bread.
It's not hard to see why. Bountiful Beer Bread requires only one additional ingredient to make, and it doesn't even have to be beer. Any carbonated beverage will do, and that opens up a world of flavoring possibilities. Even better, you can change up your bread with the easy addition of almost any flavoring ingredient.
Recently I was in a playful mood, so I decided to see how many delightfully diverse versions of Bountiful Beer Bread I could concoct. I got out my trusty Silicone Bar Pan and started experimenting.
Here are some of the standouts:
Rustic Herb Beer Bread. Maybe you use Rustic Herb Seasoning primarily on your Thanksgiving turkey (as well you should; it's amazing). But this savory seasoning makes a delightfully rustic beer bread, too. Just add 2 tablespoons to the batter.
Bacon Bacon Cheddar Bread. Two tablespoons of Bacon Bacon and ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese added to the basic Bountiful Beer Bread Mix batter make this a savory sensation.
Italian Pesto Bread. Another savory superstar! Just add 2 tablespoons Dried Tomato & Garlic Pesto Mix and 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese into the Bountiful Beer Bread Batter. It's especially sensational served warm.
Coconut Pineapple Bread. On the sweeter side, this recipe, which adds a can of crushed pineapple and 1 cup flaked coconut to the batter, is a treat for breakfast or snacking.
Butterscotch Breakfast Bread. This one substitutes cream soda for the beer and includes 1 cup butterscotch chips and 3 tablespoons sugar. Beautiful for brunch!
Cranberry Orange Walnut Bread. This one is a favorite at Christmastime at my house. It uses lemon-lime soda and orange juice, plus cranberry sauce and chopped walnuts. Chock full o'yum!
These are just a few suggestions; you'll find dozens more at tastefullysimple.com/get-and-share-recipes. If you're feeling adventurous, why not raid the pantry for your favorite flavors and create your own signature Bountiful Beer Bread? I'd love to hear what you come up with!
