Eighteen years ago, I was having more bad days than good at the law firm where I worked. On my lunch break one particularly stressful day, I prayed for a sign to show me what directon my life should take. The next day I received an email forwarded from a friend. The original author, someone I didn't know, talked about the blessing of her new Tastefully Simple business. Intrigued, I looked up the company: it was FOOD! I submitted a contact slip and heard from the consultant from the original email. I didn't know this person, and didn't want anything to do with some pushy salesperson … but she asked for just five minutes of my time. An hour later, when we hung up the phone, I felt like I had a new best friend. She followed up by mailing me a packet of information and samples of Simply Salsa Mix and Spinach & Herb Seasoning. I made the samples and loved them both.
Soon, after a lot of praying and talking with my husband, I felt convinced this was what God had planned for me. I jumped in … and after 18 years in business, I have never regretted it. I worked my business part-time for 17 years while I worked a full-time job. In March this year, I quit that other job and placed my focus on Tastefully Simple. I work on administrative tasks during the day, leaving my evenings free to spend with my family. I try to have 2-3 parties or events each week, for a total of 10 income-producing activities each month.
The impact of my business extends beyond me to my family. My kids have grown up with Tastefully Simple as a daily part of their lives – both on the table and as mom's successful business. As for me, it's helped me overcome my natural shyness and develop self-confidence. I've never felt like a salesperson; I just talk to people and help them see how our awesome products can meet their needs.
There are so many reasons to join Tastefully Simple. You'll learn to cook better. You'll try new foods you probably wouldn't have experienced otherwise. You'll make new friends with clients and fellow consultants. You'll grow in self-confidence and leadership. And you'll make money along with all these other benefits. Why wouldn't EVERYONE want to do this?
I have loved the last 18 years as a Tastefully Simple consultant and am still excited about the possibilities. Looking forward to what the NEXT 18 years holds!
