I was seven months pregnant the night I got hooked on Tastefully Simple's foods (especially Absolutely Almond Pound Cake Mix™) in 2005, at a party hosted by two of my college friends. I didn't know anyone there but the hosts, yet I found that over food, people quickly bond, chat and become friends. In fact, I was happy to host a party myself after my baby was born.
Hosting was one thing. But initially I wanted NOTHING to do with the business opportunity. I really thought it was for crazy people – fanatics of parties. Sure, I liked the food and enjoyed having friends over. But with now TWO little ones at home, I answered my consultant's suggestion to start my own business with a wistful, "Now is clearly not the time."
Fast-forward two more years. We were living in a new house in a new town. My teaching job was 35 minutes away. I had no friends – I found myself going to Target just for a little adult interaction! Noticing my eagerness for fun and friends, my husband offhandedly suggested I look into "that Tastefully Simple thing you love so much."
So I contacted my consultant for more information, and decided to give myself three months to see if this was something I realy wanted to do.
Surprise – I fell in love! I loved the friends I was making, being out of my house for just two hours and sharing my passion for food and recipe ideas with other busy people. I loved the excitement I felt every time I hit a mini milestone in an incentive. (And my husband loved the paycheck!). It has been a match made in foodie heaven ever since.
Now, 9½ years later, I work my Tastefully Simple business alongside my teaching job and around the busy schedules of my three active kiddos. I love that this business fits our family. True, we could live without what I earn from my business. But with the added income, we have time and money for the extras. We love to travel, and I was able to achieve my childhood dream of owning an RV.
My children are growing up knowing what it means to set goals, work toward those goals and achieve them. They see their mama is a hard-working mother who cherishes every moment at home. They recognize the importance of fulfillment in life. And communicating and coordinating our two schedules has even strengthened my relationship with my husband. I am so grateful for what this business has done for my family.
Believe it or not, I'm still excited about my business. I love the people, being around the consultants on my own team and across the nation. I get excited about our new products and how I can use them to help others make their lives easier and healthier. And I get so excited to get a paycheck that I have COMPLETE CONTROL over!
The Tastefully Simple opportunity is investing in yourself – in experiencing personal growth with a company that has integrity and core values that promote goodness in the world. It's about sharing crazy delicious food that helps other people come back around the table. It's built on a foundation of respect and abundance for all.
Why not give this opportunity a try? If you like it, great! If not, you will still have gained great friends, recipe and income!
