It was National Donut Day about a month ago, so instead of heading out to buy donuts at the bakery, I picked up a donut pan at the store. And you thought your knives were the most dangerous thing in your kitchen! But hey, a baking pan for donuts is a lot healthier than buying a fryer … right?
Lemon poppy seed is always a welcome flavor in our house – it tastes so fresh and looks pretty, too! So I decided to break in the donut pan by making lemon poppy seed donuts. The additional almond flavor from Absolutely Almond Pound Cake Mix makes these cake donuts absolutely fabulous!
If you were wondering … this recipe also bakes up beautifully in the Silicone Bar Pan … they will just take an extra 5-10 minutes in the oven. I may have tried this – they taste amazing, too!
