My business changed our lives

I first discovered Tastefully Simple 13 years ago when I attended a party that my best friend was hosting. My friends and I all had an absolute blast, and we decided that we would take turns hosting a party every month so we could each earn free products and get together for more yummy food and fun. Even though I had a fear of public speaking, when I saw that all of my friends wanted to host parties, I decided to turn the one I had scheduled into my Blast Off party so I could earn money instead of giving it to a stranger. Being able to conquer my fears has been one of the biggest surprises and benefits of my business.

For five years I did Tastefully Simple part time alongside my full-time career. Then in 2011 I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and had to quit my full-time job. I was so fortunate to be able to just add more parties to my calendar and do Tastefully Simple full time!

This business has afforded us so much over the years. The flexibility of my schedule allowed me to participate in my kids' activities as they were growing up. My whole family loves the products, the free trips I've earned and of course the income. But I think the thing that I am most grateful for is what my daughters have learned from watching me through the years.

My girls, Madison and Taylor, were just 3 and 6 when I started my Tastefully Simple business, and they learned from a very early age the importance of having a good work ethic and about goal setting. They know that anything is possible if you want it bad enough and are willing to work for it. Over the years, my daughters have become strong, independent young women. They are great at providing customer service, love volunteering and giving back to the community. And they are they both know how to run a business, market themselves and cook delicious food!

It has been a blessing to see them want to be like me and implement these skills into their daily lives at both school and at work. I am so proud that they've learned how to be caring, generous and entrepreneurial.

Being a consultant has totally changed my life and my family. The friendships are priceless and it's so much fun If you need cash, want to earn free vacations, or just need an excuse to get out of the house, all of that (and more) is possible. What do you have to lose? You'll never know unless you give it a try. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made!
