I love super-simple, delicious recipes. This one you can make in a snap and bring to all of your spring get-togethers. Hint: it would make a pretty and delightful treat for Mother’s Day!
Tastefully Simple’s Chipotle Seasoning gives this sweet classic a spicy twist. It will be ready in just minutes, and your kiddos can even help!
Fill the strawberries using a spoon or pastry bag (here is a helpful video on piping strawberries). Either way, this recipe is sure to impress!
Check out the step-by-step photos, or scroll to the bottom for the complete recipe.
In a small bowl, combine cream cheese , marshmallow creme and Chipotle Seasoning; mix well.
Slice the tops off the strawberries to create a flat surface.
If you want your strawberries to stand up, also take a small slice off the bottom to create a level base.
Use a paring knife to hollow out the strawberries.
Pipe or spoon in the filling.
Top with a blueberry and you’re done!
Savory Strawberry Poppers
Ingredients
- 2 (8 oz.) pkgs. softened cream cheese
- ¾ cup marshmallow creme
- 3 tsp. Chipotle Seasoning
- 2 pints fresh strawberries
- 2 pints fresh blueberries
Directions
Tips and Hints
- Mix it up by using blackberries, sliced banana, small pieces of pineapple or another small fruit to top your strawberries.
- Add some extra protein by using Greek yogurt cream cheese, or lighten it up by using low-fat cream cheese.
- If you prefer it spicier, add some extra Chipotle Seasoning; if you like less spice, reduce it by ½ to 1 tsp.
- If you’d like your strawberries to stand up nicely on a platter, slice off the bottom just enough to give it a flat surface.
- Use extra filling as a fruit dip or a sweet-and-savory spread for bagels and English muffins.
