Tuesday Tip: Assemble ingredients ahead of time

Knowing what's for dinner each night can be troublesome for some families. You take the step through by making a meal plan for the week and do your grocery shopping. You get home from work to start making your meal but realize you forgot one ingredient and need to chop the veggies and thaw the meat. 

A little preparation the night before can save you time and energy at dinnertime the next day! Read through your recipe. There are likely several things you can do that will make the next day's dinner prep a lot easier. For example:

  • Take meat out of the freezer and place in the refrigerator to thaw
  • Chop vegetables
  • Check that you have all of your ingredients
  • Ensure that you have enough of any staple items you'll need - items such as ketchup, mayonnaise, flour, salt, etc.

Dinnertime will be quicker, easier and you'll avoid possible frustration!
