Candy Crunch Caramel Apples Preparation Recipe
This is the basic recipe preparation.
- 6 small room temperature apples*
Wash and dry apples; insert sticks. Open toppings and place on small plates. Spray stirring spoon with cooking spray. Remove wrap from caramel tray; place tray on a microwave-safe plate. Heat caramel in 30-second intervals; stirring after each until caramel begins to bubble and is completely melted. CAUTION: Handle hot caramel with care. Keep caramel tray on the plate; set next to the toppings. Roll each apple in caramel to coat evenly and immediately roll in desired toppings. Place apple on greased baking sheet or waxed paper to cool. Repeat until all apples are coated. Reheat caramel in microwave if it gets too firm to cover apples. * If your apples are cold, the caramel will set up too quickly and toppings may not stick. More Ways To Mix It Up! Cut caramel apples into slices for easy snacking and sharing. Use your own toppings: chocolate chips, cocoa powder, shaved chocolate, sprinkles or chopped nuts. For even more decadence, drizzle prepared caramel apples with melted chocolate or white almond bark.
