Caramel Pretzel Brownies Recipe
Chocolate, salty, caramel...what more could you ask for?
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup (1 stick) melted butter
- 1½ cups mini pretzels
- Coarse sea salt
Preheat oven to 350°. Line 8 X 8 baking pan with foil, spray with non-stick spray. Combine brownie mix, eggs and melted butter; stir until moist. Batter will be lumpy. Pour about ⅓ of the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan. Spread until the bottom of the pan is evenly coated; add two even layers of pretzels, covering the entire surface. Carefully spoon the remaining brownie batter on top to cover the pretzels. Bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle of the brownies comes out clean. Remove; cool slightly. Lift the foil to remove from pan. Spread caramel sauce over the top of the brownies; warm to thin, if needed. Sprinkle top with a few pinches of sea salt. Serve warm, or let cool to room temperature then serve. Makes about 12-16 servings.
