flexibility. income. fun. want your own business?
Just over 10 years ago (March 3, 2008) I made what I consider to be one of the best decisions of my life. After several weeks of careful consideration I began a business as an Independent Consultant with Tastefully Simple.
I had always loved to cook and play around in the kitchen, but I really didn’t have the time. With 5 kids ranging from 1 to 17 years of age, you could say we were “just a tad busy.”
Then I was introduced to Tastefully Simple. Finally! I had found a way to feed my family delicious meals quickly that did not mean going through the drive through. Whether racing in from soccer or play practice, we could be in the door and at the dinner table in 30 minutes with a home-cooked meal!
At this particular time in my life I was taking a hiatus from 10 years of working in the corporate world as a CPA to stay at home with my children. I knew that until my youngest was able to start school, I needed to find a way to contribute financially to our household while remaining at home.
Again, the answer came in the form of Tastefully Simple. I now had a job which allowed me to be there for my family any time I was needed, but also allowed me to financially contribute as well. Plus, whether it’s helping my clients come up with ideas for quick, healthy meals for their family or easy, delicious entertaining ideas, helping my team members to achieve their own goals by coaching them to be the best they can be, or contributing a portion of my sales to various organizations and fundraisers, I got the satisfaction of knowing that I was helping others on multiple levels. The bonus is that it is so much fun, and on top of that I have made more new friends than I could have ever imagined!
Fast forward 4 years, and when the time came for me to re-enter the corporate workforce, my one stipulation was that I would not relinquish my Tastefully Simple business. It had grown to something that was much more than just a “job”. It had become a part of me! It took a little restructuring of my schedule to make everything fit, but I have managed to do it, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I LOVE what I do!
Take a look through my website. I think you will really like what you see, and if you are interested in hosting a party, placing and order or becoming a consultant on our Simply Blessed team, please contact me. I would love to meet you!
Remember, enjoy the SIMPLE things in life!
