Bayou Bourbon Cheeseburgers Recipe

Delicious, juicy burgers prepared with Bayou Bourbon Glaze.

  • 2 lbs. lean ground beef
  • 2.8 oz. pkg. fully-cooked bacon bits
  • 2.8 oz. container french-fried onions, divided
  • 6 slices Cheddar cheese
  • 6 lettuce leaves
  • 6 hamburger buns

  • Broil


Heat grill or broiler. Combine ground beef, ½ cup Bayou Bourbon Glaze, bacon and half of the onions; shape into 6 patties, about ½-inch thick. Grill or broil patties 10-14 minutes, turning once, to desired doneness. Place cheese on top of burgers; heat 30-60 seconds longer or just until cheese begins to melt. Place lettuce leaves on bottom halves of buns; top with burgers, remaining onions and glaze. Makes 6 servings. Suggested sides: Sweet potato fries and fresh fruit

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BIG Hit Here! I rarely make hamburgers from "scratch" - more of a frozen patty person because burgers generally mean "what can I put on the table in the next 15 minutes?" Plus - my family is NOT very adventurous when it comes to their staple summer grilled meats. HOWEVER - I saw this recipe and it just sounded too good NOT to try - so I did - and EVERYONE LOVED it!! Of course, ANYTHING with Bayou Bourbon on and/or in it has my vote! But the crunchy bits of bacon & onion really made these burgers special. AND I love that I don't have to worry about running out of any of the ingredients because they're seasonal! BIG BIG BIG thumbs up!!!
