Samba Sangria Slush Drink Mix Preparation Recipe
Ready to samba? Just add red wine and water, and freeze in the handy bucket.
- 2 (750 ml) bottles red wine
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- No bake/cook
Empty and rinse bucket. Add dry mix, both bottles of wine and enough warm water to fill to within about 1/2 inch of rim. Freeze 12-14 hours. Stir and scoop into glasses. Stir well to dissolve. Makes about 9 (8 oz.) servings. More Ways to Mix It Up! Garnish with fresh slices of orange, lemon or lime.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Sangria Love from Traveling Question for Sangria How does it travel? I'm going on a bus trip with friends and would like to prepare this the night before and have it to serve on the bus ride the next morning. How should I transport and keep it until I serve it approximately 1 to 2 hours? I've had it before and LOVED it!

You have to give it at least several hours or overnight to "freeze" and if you do it according to the directions it takes two full bottles of wine but I would buy this again. I threw in a large handful of blueberries right before putting it in the freezer. When making it again I would like to use a larger container than the bucket it comes in and add more diced fruit. Maybe it's because I did not use super cheap wine ($10 and $12 dollar bottles, respectively) but we thought the balance between sweetness and wine was perfect.
