Slow-Cooked Chicken Dinner Recipe

  • 1½ pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts, seasoned with salt and pepper
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
  • ⅓ cup milk
  • 2 cups herb-seasoned stuffing mix
  • ½ cup butter, melted

  1. In 3-quart or larger slow cooker, layer seasoned chicken, Onion Onion Seasoning and cheese.
  2. In small bowl, whisk together soup and milk. Pour over chicken. Sprinkle with stuffing mix and drizzle with melted butter.
  3. Cook on LOW 6-7 hours.

Makes 6 servings.

Serve with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables.

Make Ahead & Freeze: Combine step 1 ingredients in a gallon freezer bag. Combine soup and milk in a quart freezer bag. Place stuffing and unmelted butter in a quart freezer bag. Place all bags in a gallon freezer bag. Seal well, label and freeze. Thaw completely. Continue with step 1.

Oven Version: Preheat oven to 350°F. Assemble steps 1 and 2 in a greased 8x8-inch baking dish. Cover with aluminum foil. Bake 45 minutes. Uncover; continue baking 30-35 minutes or until internal temperature of chicken reaches 165°F on an instant-read food thermometer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy & DELICIOUS! Brought the ingredients for this recipe (along w/my crock pot) to my relatives to make when it was "my" turn to make dinner. Put all the ingredients in the crock pot in the morning and left to have a fun day w/my relatives. When we returned, the place smelled wonderful and several of my relatives asked for the recipe!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Flavor This dish was easy to make and the results were a very flavorful meal everyone loved. Even my picky children liked it. I followed directions to a T. I noticed people complained about it being salty. As no salt was in the recipe I can only assume they either didn't follow directions or their stuffing had too much sodium which I would suggest reading the package for how much sodium is in it and using unsalted butter. This was outstanding and will be our Families favorite.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very Salty I agree with a previous person's review that this dish is salty. I have made it twice and changed the stuffing and made sure I added no additional salt. It was still very salty. I love all the ingredients in it but for some reason this dish becomes very salty.
