Iced Gingerbread Cake Donuts Recipe

  • 1 package Maple Iced Gingerbread Mix
  • 1 cup + 1 tablespoon water, divided
  • 7 tablespoons butter, melted and divided
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • Crushed gingersnap cookies or sprinkles for garnish, optional

  1. In a large bowl, combine Maple Iced Gingerbread Mix packet 1, 1 cup water, 6 tablespoons melted butter and orange zest; blend well. Do not overmix.
  2. Drop batter into greased donut pan by tablespoonfuls, filling each mold 2/3 full.
  3. Bake 20-25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Allow donuts to cool 5 minutes in pan; transfer to cooling rack.
  4. In a small bowl, combine Maple Iced Gingerbread Mix packet 2 with remaining 1 tablespoon melted butter and water; whisk until smooth. Drizzle immediately over donuts. If desired, garnish with crushed gingersnap cookies or sprinkles.
