Nana's Apple Cake Mix Preparation Recipe
Standard preparation for our Nana's Apple Cake Mix.
- 2 cups chopped apples (any variety, peeled or unpeeled)
- 2 large eggs*
- 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Preheat oven to 350°. Combine ingredients in a large bowl; stir until mixed. Spread batter in a greased 8 x 8 baking pan or a 10-inch deep-dish pie plate. Bake 45-55 minutes. Cool and serve. Makes about 9 servings. More Ways to Mix It Up! Top with our Creamy Caramel Sauce and whipped cream; serve warm. Substitute 1 cup applesauce for chopped apples. Substitute 2 cups fresh or drained canned pears, peaches or rhubarb. Add pecans instead of walnuts. Substitute 1 cup canned pumpkin and 1/2 cup each raisins and walnuts. Top with cream cheese frosting. High altitude preparation: Add 2 tablespoons water with other ingredients. *Egg substitute may be used.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Cranberry Special from Cranberry Nana's This is the time of the year to do this and it is soooo good. Has just a hint of tart! Substitute 2 cups of chopped fresh cranberries instead of apples. Top with a dollop of whipped cream.

Just when you think this dessert can'take get any better, top it with Vanilla Bean Chai mixed into whipped cream and put a dollop on each piece. It's a great way to impress your guests or your picky kids!
