Dried Tomato & Garlic Pesto Mix Recipe

2 tablespoons Dried Tomato & Garlic Pesto Mix
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese

  1. In small microwave-safe bowl, combine first 3 ingredients.
  2. Microwave on HIGH 1 minute; let stand 5 minutes. Stir in cheese if desired.

Makes about ¼ cup pesto.

    Ingredients changed! Seed oils!

    Just ordered 3 of these, which used to be my favorite. NO MORE! I initially noticied how fine the seasoning was, when it used to be coarser and robust. I turned to the ingredients list which now has Maltodextrin and Canola oil. Dried tomato is now the 5th ingredient listed when it used to be the first. Used to have basil too and now has spinach powder. Give me a break Tastefully Simple. I will actually throw these out and not use them. They are garbage and that’s where they belong. They have the audacity to label it as “clean.” Never again. From Tastefully Simple: We are sorry to hear that the Dried Tomato & Garlic Pesto Mix did not meet your expectations. This is a well-loved and longtime favorite product of many Tastefully Simple clients. That is why, when the original manufacturer who produced this product for us since 1997 went out of business, we devoted many months to product research and development to find a replacement. Our current mix was put through several product tasting sessions and performed well, which allowed us the opportunity to continue to offer Dried Tomato & Garlic Pesto Mix as part of our product line up. Addressing your ingredient concerns…This mix does contain basil. It is not specifically listed on the label as it falls under the “spices” reference. The amount of canola oil included is very negligible and is a necessary processing aid to deliver a uniform blend of the product through each shaker. You are correct that the current version does have a finer appearance compared to the original due to differences in the manufacturing process. However, when blended up, the pesto matches the texture we all know and enjoy. Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we understand that taste and product preference is subjective and personal.
